Luther Gardens and Luther Gardens Annex are owned by DCIC, Lutheran Senior Services of Sussex County, Inc. and Lutheran Senior Living. Elderly (as defined by HUD and the Federal government), Tax Credit. Electric, heat pump, central A/C. Small pets permitted. Located in Historic Downtown Milton off of Bay Avenue. Walking distance from shopping and DART transportation available. Luther Gardens received it's C/O in 01/2001 and the Annex in 07/2001. Each complex consists of 18 units. These cottage style apartments are 748 square feet, which consists of an eat-in kitchen, spacious living and bedrooms, large walk-in closet, handicap accessible bathroom with stand-up shower equipped with a seat and handicap railing. There is also a coat closet located conveniently by the front door.The kitchen is furnished with a dishwasher, electric stove, exhaust and refrigerator. All of the single story units have a front porch, which is shared with one neighbor. Residents are permitted to personalize the flower beds in front of their apartments with flowers of their choosing. If the resident does not have a green thumb, beautiful shrubbery surrounds the entire complex. A community building is the center of the complex. This is where the office, laundry and community rooms are located. Every month we have a birthday celebration in which coffee and some type of breakfast finger food is provided. We also try to have a covered dish luncheon every month. Bible study is every Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. Mail boxes and trash disposal are located at the front of the complex (a short walk for all residents). Gazebo in the center of the complex, beside the Community Building. Pet exercise area provided with pet waste station.
